I never played the original Megaman games. I did watch the show though (which I thought was awesome), and protoman was always cooler than megaman to me.

All the cool dudes wear yellow scarves. See: Captain Falcon.
I've been attracted to the Megaman franchise for a while, but I never stick with it =[
From what I know, Protoman came first within that universe. Plus he's wearing red. So ... by that, I'll probly like him more whenever I end up advancing further in the series. Need Red/Protoman crossover character art. That is, a single character combining both. Also, Red+Protoman team in TvC. Or... Game Freak vs Capcom. GFvsC

Pokémon-Megaman crossover, huh? I don't really know how I'd feel about that- sure on one hand, that'd be totally kickass, but on the other hand it's been one of the things I loved best about pokémon that the creators seem to take their respective continuities very seriously, and crossover arcs tend to take continuity and violate it like a prison bitch.

Even in a one-off fighting game, they'd try and hodgepodge a story explaining how the hell Pikachu ends up fighting alongside Samus Roll or how Lucario might agree to work with Meta Knight Bass. And it would suck, in terms of each series' stories, even though it would make for a mind-blowingly awesome campaign in its own game.

You got pretty serious about that. I don't want a Pokémon-Megaman crossover, I just want Red fused with Protoman.
But now that you mention it... I bet the Megaman universe could use some sort of Pokémon formula to make another spinoff to make a zillion sequels of. Robot Master-balls, Megamon

Besides, cross-over games don't change canon from each universe, it's just fantasy. Plus, you can pick and choose, being a fan - you don't have to accept everything just because it has the franchise's stamp on it.

Sorta like Battle Network's navi system, but a little farther along than just chips and navis, huh?

Yeah, but you gotta keep an eye out with them- they're introducing another mechanic similar to pokérus virus called the "Maverick Virus" and I think I heard about two other strains of it called Sigma and Zero. No news as of yet what these new infections do to your reploids Pokémon...
