If I had a video camera, I'd make a video showing me, along with the movie (and/or Pikachu's Goodbye) playing in a corner of the video so you could see here I was at.
But I don't have a video camera.

When I first watched it (14~ish) I was happy that Ash was killed off, since I wanted a show about Misty (Mind you, age difference). When I watched it again recently, I grew over that innate hatred of Ash (Red helped) and I realized that this exact scene where battle-hardened Pokemon and sins against nature were crying over a noble sacrifice, it hit me.
This was the saddest thing I have ever watched in my fucking life.

I think you need to be shown more heartbreaking things.
It must be considered that Ash had only been with his Pikachu for what ... half a year, MAYbe? It'd be nothing like if it were 10+ years.
If such an episode were to happen now, in the show, I don't think anybody would cry. Even if Pikachu left completely. The show's too different, and lack of continuity / constant changing of Ash's team CHEAPENS Ash's team, and likely Ash+Pik's friendship.

If Pikachu left, the Ash saga would end and the Jimmy [Kenta (the anime's Gold-like character)] saga would begin.
Hey, I can dream.

Man, don't underestimate a relationship like that. I rescued a dog 6 months ago, and I fucking love my dog. A lot. And, mind you, I don't have the same "buddy-buddy, I can sort of understand what you're saying most of the time" thing that Ash and Pikachu supposedly do.

I just rewatched "Address Unown" and "Mother of all Battles, the two episodes where Ash and friends see what happened to Larvitar and they try to reunite it with momma Tyranitar. Holy shit, I started bawwwwwing when I saw Tyranitar getting shot at with bazookas.

I lack specific information, but I believe I was cry-sad in the episode where Ritchie left.
I don't remember exactly why, though. I don't even remember the episode. I just remember Ritchie leaving.
It's even possible that my brain made this up.

And Pox, I haven't seen the episode you speech of. But bazookas getting shot at pokes is crazy.

Gonna have to agree with you there, lol, but the Larvitar screaming "MOOOOMMMMYYY" was just dreadful to me. Gnawing at my maternal instinct, I guess.

The whole fight scene had me teary-eyed, especially the part where pikachu gets slapped around.

Pox is a lady? Interesting. I should spend more time on IRC.

I feel like I don't know you guys well enough, and that's sad because I p[refer you over my IRL friends.

In some cases, I'd agree with Rocket Grunt, :D

Yeah, IRC is awesome when people are on!

I bawled my eyes out at the Tyran/Larvitar scene.
