Went to Gamestop to download my 3 Shiny Pichus. They wouldn't let me see the DS that was distributing them - apparently Nintendo locks them in the box, now. I went to another Gamestop with no luck. What I was hoping to do was acquire a Jirachi early by setting the DS clock ahead - early date event pokes are unique. I was able to do this at Toys R Us - the DS's were unlocked, and I got Regigiygas or some one early during whatever event was happening at TRU a few months ago.

I saw some HG/SS boxes near the front counter at Gamestop, and asked the fellow if they, or if their huge HG/SS posters, had been claimed. He said it didn't work like that, and that I should come back around March 14th when they'd be taking them down. I asked if had any extra boxes or advertisements. At first he said no, but then was like 'Wait hold on' and came out with these two pictured big HG/SS boxes, brand new unfolded. I thanked him a bunch and took off.

The G/S in the image are mine, but I got both of the two Game Boys at a local Play N Trade for 10 dollars even. Originally 7$ apiece, I asked to test them out, and lo - the grey one's screen is cropped a bit, and it's start button requires an abnormally firm and direct push. So I asked if he'd lower the price, and he said 4 dollars, and I said 'Hmm.. 8, 9, 10, 11... Well how about both of them for 10 dollars?"
"You're just a wheelin' dealin' guy!"
And off I go with my two good condition Game Boys. The screens are particularly nice. I'm also happy to finally have an original clear GB.
For context, I already have 1 grey and 1 yellow Game Boys. What am I gonna do with these new ones? Handheld/electronic experiments. See if I can't prosound mod the clear one (or both?), possibly install a backlight.

I asked my Gamestop if I could have their HUEG BOX ARTS a few weeks ago, and he said it was store policy to destroy them when they were done. Apparently, a rival game store had been raiding their dumpsters for their old displays and advertisements, and using them for themselves. This store did not have the rights to use them, and Gamestop apparently got some shit for it, and now I can't get any of them.

I think Gamestop might be the only ones that have adverts available regularly. They are constantly changing their posters and display boxes.

On this subject, I also have a huge Mario Kart sticker - it's just Mario... in a kart, from the DS version. Scraped it off a counter when Circuit City was closing.
Also have a HUGE GameCube... thing. It's like 8 feet long or something, maybe 4 feet high. Made of some kind of quality plasticy fabricy stuff. It was hanging outside of a closing K-Mart in the UP and I said "Ya sellin' that?" and the answer was '5 bucks and you take it down.' Heck yeah!
Also have a few other boxes/paper posters.

I already did my downloads and pre-orders but I've gotta give it a shot at getting some free and/or cheap fanboy stuffz. When I saw those huge HG/SS boxes in the store, I read and looked at them for like 30 minutes; I'll be sooo happy if they give me one or two.
