Check out these babies. Sennheiser HD-555 Audiophile series.
They're the greatest open-dynamic headphones I've ever put on, and I did a slight mod (not as much a mod than tinkering) to make it about as efficient as 595s.

The original specs:
Cable length - 9.8 ft. (3 m)
Contact pressure - 3.5 N
Ear coupling - Around-the-ear
Frequency response - 15/28,000 Hz
Jack plug - 6.3 mm stereo (3.5 mm Adapter)
Nominal impedance - 50 Ω
SPL - 112 dB (1 kHz and 1 Veff)
THD - < 0.2 %
Transducer principle - Open, dynamic
Weight w/o cable - 9.2 oz. (260 g)

And the best part: these phones are built so that you can replace any part inside of it in case it breaks, and it comes with a 2 year warranty on top of that.

This. Pretty sound quality, but it's not as cushiony as the better models. Sadly, the cables aren't gold so the quality is not as crisp. The only bad thing is the durability of the wires, as they keep tearing so I had to buy replacements wires.

But other then that, after having it for 2+ years, dropped numerous times, swung around and lived through heavy rain... It still works perfectly! It can probably last me for another 5 years.

Price-wise? I got it on sale for ~$50 (free shipping) and the retail was ~$100.

Oh hay, I'm just necroing and old thread.

I actually retired my old headphones and got these instead. My old headphones still works fine, it's just I felt I need something... better. :P

I really regret buying it though, I could've gotten the HD-555 for $15 more during that time. But hey, I'm not complaining.
