Okay, so I got a clean SS rom. Then, I used the DSLazy thing to fix the arm7.bin. After that, I put it in the "encrypt" folder of the pokefix, and ran the eNDryptS.exe.

While that ran, I got popup messages saying windows couldn't open files like PatchEngine.da1. I don't know if this is related, because eNDryptS said that the rom was patched successfully.

Then, I did the pokefix with the Bios and whatnot, I got the default DS menu to come up, with the name of the SS cart showing up. I clicked on it, and then the rom image crashed.

What the fuck did I do wrong, /emu/?

This link is to an All-in-one, pre-patched rom of Soul Silver.
It has a shortcut file that directly opens No$gba with SoulSilver.
So far, no crashes and is as translated as my previous posts in this thread.

I wish there was a fully translated patch, but oh well. I suppose it's still way too early, if there's ever going to be a full translation. I'll play my SoulSilver all the same, and shut up about it.

Okay, I'm hoping one of you guys can help me with this.

Playing a pre-patched SS rom on no$gba (with the required settings) creates all these black lines around everything, savestates don't work (but in-game saving does), and the game freezes up every so often, so I have to quit and restart every now and then just to be safe.

Playing it on Desmume, the graphics are fine (if a little laggy), and savestates work, but in-game saving doesn't (it goes through the motions, but when I try to hit start on the start screen after opening up the rom, it goes to start a new game, which means no post-E4 stuff) and the game pretty much breaks down at the city with the first gym (city doesn't load all the way, game freezes, etc).

Is there a way to fix either of these to run smoothly (desmeme - get through the first gym city and save in-game; no$gba - get rid of the black lines all over everything and random freezing)?

TO THE PEOPLE WHO ARE USING NO$GBA AND HAVING TROUBLE, OR PEOPLE WHO ARE SICK OF OTHER EMULATORS NOT WORKING, OR PEOPLE OVERWHELMED BY THE AMOUNT OF POSTS ON THIS THREAD (Those using flashcarts need not apply):

First, download this:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WIXS0M4X
It contains no&gba, with an ALREADY PATCHED Soul Silver rom. It does not crash or freeze. It is also patched with an early ENGLISH patch. Battles, menus, and items are in English. Everything you need is in here ready to go already.

IMPORTANT: That zip file comes with a save file already. You cannot delete it in-game. You will have to go into your computer and delete the .sav file.

After that, you just open no$gba and select the soul silver rom. All of the no$gba settings are already what they need to be to function properly. Your game will autosave. Very convenient.

NOTE TO MAC USERS:
Download both Darwine and xquartz to run no$gba on your computer, found here:
http://www.kronenberg.org/darwine/
http://xquartz.macosforge.org/trac/wiki

Hopefully I have been of assistance. This thread was becoming a bit of a scavenger hunt to find the useful information.

Copied from that board with the twerps
Pic related, it's my happy Todadile on that ROM
