I seem to have encountered a problem. Whenever I try to open romhacks on my VBA, it goes to a blank screen and keeps changing the % thing at the top. I have no idea what's going on here. Picture is a screencap of what's going on. Help?

Pretty sure you have to Options -> Save Type -> Flash 128K

files give a "not available" sometimes, don't know why, i assume it'll go away eventually. no idea if these work across regions of carts, etc. someone with the needed hardware try it out.

Holy shit this is amazing!

So what do I do? I just burn these discs on a 3" mini DVDr and then play them on a modified gamecube?

Did you paid ANY attention to the entire thread?
The problem is that even with the japanese bonus disc, you won't get squat without a completed save file from a japanese copy of Colosseum and a japanese copy of ruby or sapphire to transfer it to. Without both, the disc will never distribute Celebi.

The Jirachi disc, on the other hand, will simply spit out one of the little bastards to every game you care to plug into your console, although why you'd bother when there's already been a slew of other Jirachi distributions since then is beyond me.

Some day I'd actually like to have all event pokes, legit.

It's usually not an effect per se, but more a result of older/lower quality cameras being used in low-light situations.

The bundle itself:

Another patch that prevents crashing. It's supposed to associate with the bundle:

A patched SoulSilver (English) version:

What are some alternative flashcarts for the DSi, other then acekard?

For whatever reason, my DSi refuses to play my acekard anymore, not because of filmware or anything, (It was not working before the 1.4(?) update)but because I scratched the card reader or something.
It still plays regular DS games fine, it just refuses to play the acekard.
I think it might be because acekard(atleast the 2i doesn't.) carts, don't have those grinds, or whatever, at the bottom, is the reason the card won't read, but I'm not sure.

Anyways, ignoring the unimportant stuff regarding my DS, can I have some suggestions for a replacement flashcart?
I know to avoid the R4 clones, but I don't really know too much about the others.

EZ Flash Vi (5i) is the best one to buy. However, you will need to run a firmware update on the system for newer DSi firmware, and for that you'll need a DS system that will boot the new 2.0 kernal to run the flashcart flasher. After that, it should work on every DSi, regardless of DSi firmware version.

whenever i try to save my game, VBA will show me this error message. i've tried setting my save type to Flash 128k and it still wont save. what do i need to do in order to save?

It has something to do with save type - setting save type in Options->Emulator to Flash 128K usually fixes the issue. But you have to start a new game, I'm afraid.

i did Flash 128k and created a newgame but it still won't save! HELP!

Just fiddle with different save types. One of them must work.

Alternatively, if you have squirrels dump, copy the rom try this rom patch: http://www.multiupload.com/SSYFHPHR3T - you need to have lunar ips installed to apply the patch, though (http://fusoya.eludevisibility.org/lips/).

I'm specifically looking for a save file of Gold, Silver, or Crystal,
where the player has advanced, at least, to the point of Pallet in Kanto. Nothing about the file matters except that I can walk/surf in and around Pallet - I plan on taking screenshots for a purpose to be revealed.

If you personally have a save file, or can point me in the direction of a place that stores save files, I would greatly appreciate it. I've actually wanted save files for such purposes before (not only for Pokémon) but I haven't gone searching around yet.
>> No. 250
You check GameFAQs yet? I know they have save files in multiple formats for most games whose saves can be extracted, including GBC.
>> No. 251
If you want to do jus that, get gameshark code for walking trough walls and waterwalking, then walk to Pallet town.

If you want screenshots of it though, I'd recommend getting GS map editor, and using it to take quality screenshots. I'm not experienced in 2nd gen games hacking (I think it was named SilverMap or GoldMap), but Pokecommunity has likely link to one.

251 get! Thank you for the info.

My current method is the best I can do, I think, since I have a Mac and I don't want to emulate Windows (it's proven difficult in the past - never works).

Did anyone ever make a clockfix patch for Emerald ROMs? I know there's one for R/S, but I don't want to play those they suck. :P
I just want to be able to grow berries AND challenge the battle frontier.

I don't think that fixed it before, but i'll try it again. Here's to hoping.

That's great, but you can't change savetype when using a 3-in-1 in your DS (like I would love to).

For that matter, I can't seem to save properly in my 3in1 for pokémon games, even after patching the clean roms with the last version of GBATA...

Convert the .sav from no$gba's format into a 256kb or 512kb format. Those should be compatible with pokesav.

Aggronfag is actually busy making one or more ROM hacks of his own; you might ask him. I know that the GBA games have been totally dissected, and I think that mapping and scripting are well under way for the DS-era games too.
>> No. 228
Aggronfag? On which boards he could be encountered? /truck/? No?

Just about anywhere, but your best shot would be to ask him directly in one of his threads dedicated to his hacks. I happen to know that the thread regarding his 151chan ruby hack is alive over in /silph/ at the moment.
