Something sort of bothers me.

Black version has Iris as its eighth Gym Leader while White has an old man named Shaga (Pokebeach.com)

The thing that bothers me is that it says White version has Shaga, but the outline of the booklet is similar to the cover of Black Version, and vice-versa. I don't doubt it but it just seems odd. It's probably just more switcheroo stuff.

And I can't decide what my starter will be. I'm not choosing another Fire/Fighting, so not Pokabu. Mijumaru's evolution line is very similar to Mudkip's, which is strange. And Smugleaf looks...pretty classy actually.

If it switched in with SR out, it would take damage to SR (Unless A: Rock types are immune to SR and I'm unaware, B: it was wild, making entry hazards irrelevant.)

No, stealth rock would do only 12% of the opponent's max HP if the attack would be regularly effective, and that is not very much at all. I just don't think stealth rock would be a huge factor in the knockout.

He's saying he knocked it out with a single attack, which I assumed would be Super Effective (water, grass, steel, etc). Gantoru's ability is sturdy, which prevents OHKO moves. Either it was slightly damaged by something previously, or an ability nulling effect was in place.

Ummm unless it was in the dream world, where it has a different ability, it shouldn't have been able to kill it.

You can't physically have 12 balls with pokemon in them, though. Any time you capture one with six on you, they get sent to the pc. The pokeballs he has draped on his... poncho thing are probably just for show.
