Fucking bullshit pokemon. There are over 500 of them and yet it's a pain in the ass to use anything more than 6. Fucking hell! Have you ever been in a position where you've got 7 pokemon you want to use? Goddamn it.

493 if I recall correctly. And for the longest time I have wanted a "Utility" move slot. Basically a move that you learn but can't use in combat to get rid of the whole HM mule thing. Also, move limit sucks.

I usually manage to sort out a six-poke team with no compromises. The only issue that comes up is goddamned HMs. I basically need a surfing pikachu for my team to work, or I'll have to switch pokes around to get around the game.

I have to switch around my teams all the time, and I have to switch for HM slaves for basically all HM's except for waterfall and sometimes surf.


I have like 10-ish pokes, maybe a bit more (not including HM slaves) that i interchange through campaign. It is usually a bit less than that, but for HG I have more than usual.

The six-Pokemon limit and HMs keep you cycling your Pokemon instead of training only a few. The four-move limit makes you have to think about what move work for which strategies. And don't hate on all HMs. Surf has always been a bro move.

I didn't take it as 'not being able to use the move period.' I took it as an extra move slot that isn't applicable for battle. Like an example Pokemon knowing Surf for battle use, in their move set, and say, Cut, for their utility slot.

Yes. Like this. You could still teach Surf to a Poke in a non-utility slot, but it would cut down on the number of HM slaves needed in a party by having the load distributed rather than concentrated.

One knows Utility Cut, one Utility Rock Smash, one Fly, one surf, one utility flash, etc. rather than a Bibarel with Cut, Rock Smash, Surf, Whatever.

Another good idea would be HM Items. If you are familiar with the "surfboard" item in RB (Lets you surf w/o a pokemon that knows surf, need to shark to get it) then you know what i mean. If not, I mean carrying around a Chainsaw or Axe for example instead of teaching Cut.

I wish they didn't put all the cool pokemon at the end of the game. I'm never going to get to use anything I find past the first gym :(
